ADDITIONAL ADDICTION

when people talk about addiction the first thing that comes to everybody's mind is alcohol. then comes nicotine, cannabis, drugs like opium, sleeping pills. there is literature even on tv addiction and internet adiiction. there are peaople who are addicted to snuff and paan. there is some literature on cartoon addiction, movie addiction, addiction to video games and puzzles etc. what if you are addicted to nasal drops???!!! if you dont use it you are breathing through your mouth. then it becomes a habit. you are unable to breath the natural way. dependence pattern develops. you thinkk of buying it the next day because there is only 2 more drops remaining. but after all this is life sustaining and there are no health problems using it. so could it be categorised under addiction? rather should it be?

the BODHI tree

i was thinking about my postgrad days when the bodhi tree came to my mind. it is this huge tree called the BODHI tree fondly by us. the existence of the whole of shantiniketan(which was the canteen) dependent on such 2 huge trees. one of those trees will play a major role in this post.this tree stands there giving us shade in sun and in the rain we sit under it and talk. we sit under it and study. i remember there were days when the space under the tree was occupied and we had waited for it to be free. even for 2 hrs we have waited if my memory is right. then we will sit only under the tree during exams. all of us felt incomplete if the shade of bodhi was not sought before exams. then there was this friend who will actually sit and meditate under this tree in her faded, torn blue and white kurta. she used to wear that kurta because its her lucky charm!!!?? i dont remember seeing her in any other dress during the exam time. later she agreed that there is a possibilty of the kurta tearing up altogather if she wears it anymore. but she found an alternative to substitute that with;meditate more under the tree!!!!the tree stood there silently but e manating strength and support. it has never failed us in protecting us from the evils of the mastermind question papers. now it will be there the same old tree with a different set of peaople beneath it with different set of beliefs. Standing tall and mighty reassuring anybody and everybody seeking comfort from it.

THE fictious STORY

there was this young guy in Germany(i think) who had nothing else to do in his life. but his achievement motivation was high. he wanted to do something different and prove himself to the world. he worked for it day and night. one day he kept his ink bottle pen paper everything an desk & sat down to write down his ideas. he slept off because of his fatigability and in his sleep he spilled ink on some 20 odd papers. when he got up he was disappointed to see his papers are ruined. he was planning to throw it in dustbin. then a sudden idea struck him (dimag ki batti jala).he wanted to use that to prove himself because nobody else has done this. he took it to a printer who was even more creative. he printed these cards with special effects available at that point of time. and voila! the great key to the unconscious was born. unfortunately the creator couldnt reap the benefits. but yes his dream came true.....he is (rather his inkblots )an indispensable entity in the realm of exploring the dark unrevealed buried secrets of the unconscious.
